Paula Camacho Henao is an attorney who graduated from Universidad de los Andes and holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center. She also earned a graduate degree in Telecommunications Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia and pursued additional legal studies at Universidad de Belgrano and Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Mrs. Camacho has over 25 years of professional experience. In the past, she served as the representative in Colombia for a U.S. law firm specializing in estate planning structures in the United States and other jurisdictions. She has been with Brigard Urrutia since 2012 and is currently a Partner in the Trusts and Estates and Family Law practice groups. Since joining the firm, she has advised families—many with multinational members—on the design and implementation of both domestic and international wealth management structures.
She has counseled family businesses on the development and implementation of corporate succession and estate planning strategies, with a focus on governance models tailored to each family’s unique interests and needs. She also has significant experience assisting families in the drafting and implementation of family protocols.
Mrs. Camacho has extensive experience in family law. In this area, she has advised individuals, couples, and families in managing family relationships and resolving disputes related to couples, child custody and care, and the economic aspects of family life.
She currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) – Colombia Chapter – and has spoken at this and many other international forums. She has been recognized by Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide for more than five consecutive years.
