The hangover of LATAM tax amnesties

Many LatAm jurisdictions implemented tax amnesty programs in line with OECD recommendations and in anticipation of CRS. However, some LatAm governments have thereafter used the Information obtained in, perhaps, questionable  ways, including violating confidentiality, tax evasion criminal prosecutions and, politically,  as a basis for increasing existing taxes and the creation of new taxes.
