Madelayne Cordero is the Chief Fiduciary Officer and Head of Trust for Amerant Bank. She is responsible for fiduciary and estate planning services to its private wealth clients, both domestic and international.
Prior to joining Amerant Bank, Madelayne served in a similar capacity in other banking institutions in South Florida. She has worked in the Trust and Fiduciary Banking field since starting her career at Northern Trust Bank of Florida over 24 years ago. Her major focus has been in planning and implementing succession plans for US, Foreign and Cross-Border Families through the use of trusts, foreign trusts, corporate structures, foundations and charitable trusts.
Madelayne received a Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Magna Cum Laude, from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, and a J.D. degree from Purdue University, Cum Laude. She also holds a TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in London.
Madelayne serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Miami Chapter and is a member of the Coral Gables Estate Planning Council and the Cuban American Bar Association. She has lectured locally and internationally on estate planning, trust administration, tax planning, fiduciary risk management, and wealth management for ultra high net worth families.
Madelayne was selected by her alma mater, Florida International University, to serve on the Business Women in Leadership Program Advisory Board. She serves on the Board of Directors for Immaculata LaSalle High School in Coconut Grove, Florida and is a member of the Alumni Associations of Florida International University and Purdue University.
