John Lawrence

John Lawrence is the CEO of Windermere Corporate Management Limited, a financial and corporate services provider based in Nassau, Bahamas, which provides a wide range of wealth management services including, but not limited to: private trust company services, family governance, estate management, corporate services, fund services, accounting services, structuring and administering variable life insurance products, consulting services and yacht services. 

John started his career with PWC, where he practiced as a certified public accountant, working in the tax department and special practice unit for investment companies.  John then moved into private banking, working for Coutts & Co., for multiple years and subsequently as the managing director for MeesPierson (Bahamas) Limited, part of the Fortis Group which was a Forbes World Super 50 company.

John was recognized by the STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) Bahamas branch, with the John Lawrence Trailblazers Award, which was named in his honor in 2023. John was also the recipient of the STEP Founders Award in December 2018 and, in 2010, was presented with the “Executive of The Year” Award, by the Bahamas Financial Services Industry, which recognizes “Outstanding Contribution to the Bahamas Financial Services Industry”.  

John, is a certified Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) and is very active in STEP, having served in numerous positions, including past president of the STEP LatAm Conference, deputy chairman of STEP Worldwide, a member of the STEP Worldwide council and a STEP Worldwide board member. John is also the past chairman of the STEP governing body for the entire Caribbean & Latin American region and is a co-founder of the STEP LatAm Conference. John has served as a board member of the Bahamas Financial Services board and on the boards of a Cayman Islands’ insurance company and several international banks and trust companies.
