Gerardo Anleu is the founding partner of Anleu & Asociados, a boutique firm specialized in structuring, mainly in mergers and acquisitions, project finance, corporate restructuring and estate and tax planning.
Advisor, member and director of different companies. He was Compliance Officer and member of the Risk and Compliance Committee of Grupo Progreso, the main cement company in Guatemala. Director of the Regional Holding of the Division of Construction Materials Distribution of Grupo Progreso, with operations in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
He was Director of the Administrator of the Wholesale Electricity Market of Guatemala. He has been Attorney in Fact and legal representative of representative offices of foreign banks in Guatemala (Grupo Bancolombia). He was advisor to the Corporate Governance Committee of the Banking Association of Guatemala. He has advised directors and shareholders of industrial and agroindustrial groups on issues of estate planning, corporate governance, compliance and risk management. He is an advisor to the Board of Directors of a regulated financial institution in Guatemala and also the Attorney in Fact of MarFund (Guatemalan Branch), a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the environment, and has advised other non-profit entities including The Nature Conservancy - TNC, Conservation International - CI, World Wild Life Fund - WWF and Rainforest Alliance.

Graduated from the Law School of the Francisco Marroquin University. He has an LLM in Energy and Environment from Tulane University (Fulbright Scholar) and a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the University of Salamanca. He took the Management Program for Lawyers at the Yale School of Management and has certificates in Business Ethics and Compliance from Global Compliance (New York and San Diego, USA).
