Chris McKenzie is a partner in the London office of O’Neal Webster and heads the firm’s BVI trusts/private client department. He advises on all aspects of BVI law relating to wills, trusts and estates. He is recognised as a leading lawyer in directories such as Chambers and the Legal 500. He was the founding chair of STEP in the BVI, a council member of STEP Worldwide from 1999 to 2010 (and the chair of STEP’s Caribbean and Latin America regional committee from 2010 to 2013) and a former vice-president of the BVI Bar Association; for over two decades he has chaired the BVI Bar Association’s probate committee. Between 1997 and 2012, and from 2018 to date, Chris has chaired the committee the proposals of which led to most the BVI’s most significant trust and estate reforms including both the VISTA trust legislation and the jurisdiction’s equally highly-regarded PTC regulations. He is also the author of most of the BVI's leading texts on trusts and estates.
