Luis G. Manzanares is a partner of the law firm MORGAN & MORGAN, with head offices located in Panama, where he focuses his practice in the trust and tax areas.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Manzanares worked as Director of Legal and Trust Services of Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika A.G. in Panama. Upon joining the Group he was entrusted with the General Direction of Morgan & Morgan Trust Corporation Limited, the trust company of the Morgan & Morgan Group in the British Virgin Islands. He stayed in this position during 5 years.

He currently works as Deputy Director in charge of supervising operations of the MORGAN & MORGAN Group in the Caribbean jurisdictions.

Luis provides legal advisory in trust, inheritance and tax matters to high net worth individuals and economic groups in Latin America. He also serves as advisor in the structuring and management of closely held (family) companies.

Mr. Manzanares holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Political Sciences from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua (USMA) and a Master’s Degree in International Banking and Financial Law from Boston University School of Law. He is a founding member of the Panama Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was also chairman of its Board of Directors; he is a member of the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA) and of the American Bar Association, as well as of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
