Ed counsels families to help them understand laws affecting decisions they need to make and plan for their future, with the intention and goal that they continue to flourish. Ed has extensive experience helping families plan for their roles and responsibilities in relation to each other as shareholders and directors of companies as well as partners in financial investments, as fiduciaries and beneficiaries of trusts, and with respect to their interests in philanthropic and social enterprise concerns.

Ed was an associate and then equity partner of the New York law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft from August 1996 to February 2002. He was a senior equity partner of the London based law firm Withers LLP from February 2002 to February 2004. From February 2004 to September 2006, Ed was the Managing Director at UBS AG, where he served as Head of Wealth Planning for the Americas (South America and Canada) and deputy in charge of Wealth Planning globally. Since September 2006, he has been working closely with families as their independent legal counsel. Ed is also Senior Advisor to Meritus Trust Company in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Ed is admitted to the Bars of the States of New York and New Jersey. Formerly, as a member of the American Bar Association, he served as Chair of the International Estate Planning subcommittee of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee (1997-2005) and the Foreign Trusts Subcommittee of the Fiduciary Income Tax Committee (1997-2005).

Ed is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Ed is a member of the Collaboration for Family Flourishing. He is a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association.

Ed has a B.S. from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor and Masters in Law Degrees from Villanova University Law School, Villanova Pennsylvania.
